Kausalyam-2026

Traditional storytelling takes on new forms at Kausalyam 2026, where centuries-old craft practices are presented through both immersive technology and live performance. Organised by the Crafts Council of Telangana, the programme features an Augmented Reality (AR) experience based on the Cheriyal Scroll tradition alongside Sita Anveshana, a contemporary leather puppet performance inspired by the Nimmalakunta puppetry tradition of Andhra Pradesh.

Cheriyal Scroll Meets Augmented Reality

The AR installation presents Virataparvam through the traditional Cheriyal Scroll, enhanced with animation, sound, and movement. Visitors can scan the artwork using their devices to experience the narrative in an interactive format, combining Telangana’s storytelling heritage with digital technology.

The installation will be open throughout 15 and 16 July 2026 at Anvaya Convention, Financial District, Hyderabad.
