A new exhibition focused on contemporary ceramic art will open in Gurgaon this September as Shambhala Art and Incept Studio present Between Block and Void at Art Incept, South Point Mall. Curated by Devika Sehgal, founder of Shambhala Art, the exhibition centres on Kurinuki, a Japanese method in which vessels are carved from a single block of clay rather than formed on a wheel. The technique has historical roots in Japanese ceramic traditions and is known for producing irregular, highly individual forms. Contemporary ceramic artists around the world have adapted Kurinuki for both functional and sculptural works, making it a relevant approach within current ceramic practice.

About the Organisers
